Our First Attempt at Donut Falls

We attempted a hike up to Donut Falls in Big Cottonwood canyon yesterday. We had to hike up a paved road for about a mile before reaching the trail head. That road was free of snow so we thought the trail would be too.But this is what the trail looked like! Deep snow.
These were taken near the trail head where the trail crossed the stream. It is a beautiful area. The weather was perfect! Eventhough we were surrounded by snow it was still very warm.

After hiking through the deep snow we were all too worn out to make it to the top! Maybe in a couple of months the snow will be gone and we will see the falls!

Jarom refused to walk in the snow, so Joseph had to carry him much of the way.

Jacob the Wolf

Jacob earned his Wolf Badge for Cub Scouts! We are so proud of him and he is really enjoying Cub Scouts, he can't wait to get started earning his Bear Badge! He is also really excited to be going to day camp for the first time which happens to be on his birthday this year!

Davis Decathlon

Nicole was chosen to be one of four kids on her school's team to compete at the Davis School District Decathlon!jump roap.
Push-ups.

In the standing broad jump Nicole jumped 6' 7". They were only scored as a team so we don't know if that was better than everyone else, but it sure sounds like a great jump!

Josh and Jarom trying out the broad jump.

Yes, cup stacking was an event! Seriously!!

Mother's Day

My flowers from the kids.
My boys making blueberry muffins for me.

My Little Gardeners

Jacob and Joshua both grew plants from seeds at school. Josh grew beans and Jacob a sunflower. It is amazing that Jacob's plant survived a week in our van during freezing weather and with no water while we were in between houses.
