Going for a Ride!

One of Joseph's co-workers owns horses and has been inviting us to come out and ride for a while now and we finally did. Nicole has been looking forward to this for a long time. Jacob had a lot of fun, too, but Josh really didn't want anything to do with the horses at first. We forced him to ride though and we think he really did enjoy the experience.

Looking more like a house

We have finished almost all of the exterior of the house. I think it looks pretty darn good. There is only a little left to do in the deck area.
But we have to build the deck before we can finish that. The sheet rockers came through and finished the ceiling and the garage is now completely done. We decided that we wanted to insulate the interior walls(with our own time and money by the way).

We got started on that yesterday. It will mainly help with sound control. Maybe our house will be quiet. We can be hopeful!

Back to School

Thursday was the first day back to school for Nicole and Jacob. Mom is excited they are both full day students this year! Nicole was very excited to see all her friends again. Jacob finally accepted the fact that kindergarten graduation was not the end of his school career and was excited to go back too. I am excited about his new teacher. She is the younger sister of his speech therapist who he has worked with for the last 2 years. Jacob has also worked with their mom who is a educational assistant at the school and another sister who is also a speech therapist. I love their family. They have all worked really great with Jacob. Both of their teachers have classroom blogs.

Our Anniversary

Sunday was our 12th wedding anniversary! We went to Rexburg for a picnic in the BYU-I horticulture gardens. It is one of our most favorite places to go. This is where we had our engagement photos taken. The kids love seeing all the trees, flowers and waterfalls. It is probably the most green place in Idaho. That's why I like it so much. They keep adding on to the gardens every year so it is always fun to see what's new since our last visit.

Way to "BEE"!

The kids were having a great time until Jacob did something to tick off a bee. He was stung three times. Once on the hand and twice on the back of his leg. So we had to cut our day a little shorter than expected. Here he is using cold soda cans as ice packs. He is doing fine today, it didn't take long for him to be up and running again.

Saturday's Progress

Our back door finally arrived and was installed. All of the siding around the deck area was finished. They also did alot of work on the attic on Saturday getting it ready to have the insulation blown in up there. Some weeks it seems like nothing gets done on our house, but this week was a good one.

Since the front steps were poured they could finally start siding the front of the house.
It's hard to see in this picture but our interior garage door was installed. Now we can install locks and actually lock our house!

Nicole Jacob and Joshua love to go out and look at their house. They can't wait to move in.

We've caved to the peer pressure!

Yes, this is our new blog. Thank you Bowen family. I'm not sure if this is easier than sending mass e-mails to show everyone the progress on our house, but it should be more fun. Yesterday we had our front steps and garage floor concrete poured. We hope you all will check back once in a while to see the hopefully quick progress on the house and you might get to see a few pictures of the kids along the way, too.

Our House

Here are some pictures of the latest work at the house. Of course most of the work is done on Saturdays so hopefully after today we will be able to show you even more progress. By the way, this blog is a work in progress so hopefully the post will get better with time!
